The Nowruz festivities (the Persian New Year celebrated for millennia) began with the spring equinox and will end on April 2. To mark this passage, Constantinople and Centre des musiciens du monde are pleased to present “Lost in the Desert Sky”, a concert featuring new music by Kayhan Kalhor.
This film is dedicated to the memory of Mohammad Reza Shajarian (1940-2020), a man of the people who will forever be remembered for his extraordinary voice, his vast knowledge of Persian traditional music and poetry, his deep love and devotion to Iranian people and culture and for his courage to speak truth to power. He will be deeply missed.
