Mini-session of Balafon with Adama Daou

A 16-blade xylophone, the pentatonic balafon is the instrument par excellence of the Malian and Burkinabe cultures. At the Centre des musiciens du monde, this instrument is taught by Adama Daou, an accomplished musician, teacher and great improviser. Students will be introduced to traditional repertoires and to the art of improvisation based on the concepts learned in class.
