is a clarinetist, flutist, singer, teacher, and composer from Reunion Island.
He has been working for several years with Zev Feldma (Ottoman Music and Yiddish Culture) and with Steve Weintraub (Yiddish Dance) whom he accompanied to many festivals around the world. In addition, he studied Mandinka music (Guinea-Conakry), Maloya music (Reunion Island) and Afro-Colombian music (Colombia).
Drawing from the sources of traditions, Zilien’s versatily as a musician made him a major collaborator in projects such as: Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra (Canada), Ichka (Canada), The Painted Birds (Germany), Zazakel (Reunion Island), Mota Soa (Madagascar), Compagnie de la Calebasse (Paris), Sasha Lurje (Latvia), and Amit Weisberger (Israel, France). He is also part of the Zev Feldman Trio with Christina Crowder and Zev Feldman.
