The conference-Rencontres musicales d’automnes 2021

Edition Femmes musiciennes du monde

November 26th et 27th, 2021

The Centre des musiciens du monde is very pleased to host, in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Observatory for Creation and Research in Music (OICRM), its first Fall Musical Meetings. So, we invite researchers and musicians to share their research and experience around the theme: Women musicians of the world. We will thus explore the professional paths of migrant musicians from various regions of the world. They will offer complementary perspectives on the issues: 1) accessibility, opportunities and career advancement for migrant musicians; 2) representations, conventions and professional standards, as well as; 3) social dynamics and gender relations. These two days of the conference will shed light on the many challenges encountered by these artists over the course of their careers.

On the program: a series of conferences, round tables, web capsules, an immersive virtual reality experience as well as 2 exceptional evening concerts. The daytime program will take place in the premises of the Centre des musiciens du monde and the number of places will be limited.
