The cajón as an accompaniment instrument

This spring, join us for a series of intensive cajón workshops specially designed to teach you how to use the cajón to accompany different musical styles.

Over the course of three 90-minute sessions per musical genre, you’ll be able to recognise, understand and play the essential rhythms of cumbia.

In each workshop, we’ll work with audio tracks to help you clearly hear how your cajón playing fits into the overall musical ensemble.

The cajón is the ultimate versatile instrument, capable of providing a solid rhythmic foundation in a wide range of contexts: it adapts easily to almost any musical style.
