Détails de l'événement

Want to sing, travel, and discover vibrant and festive folk music? This workshop is for you!

For several years now, singer Laïla Amezian has been offering workshops open to everyone, with no prerequisites, to introduce them to Moroccan chaabi singing. Chaabi is the voice of the people: music rooted in everyday life, rhythmic, warm, joyful, but also conveying profound and sometimes politically engaged stories.

The workshop is not limited to simple vocal practice: it is a true sensory immersion into the musical world of chaabi through voice and rhythm. You will be invited to feel the music from within, to discover poetic lyrics and the stories they tell, and the emotions they convey.

This collective experience is also an opportunity to immerse yourself in a living culture, to understand its codes, symbols, and often overlooked richness. Special attention is paid to the diversity of chaabi styles in the northern part of the country and the essential role of women in this musical tradition.

No musical experience is required: all you need is the desire to discover, share, and let your voice resonate with that of the group. At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a few song excerpts and their translations in hand, as well as simple rhythmic cues and elements to extend the experience at home or with others.

A warm and accessible workshop, to be enjoyed as a moment of pleasure, exchange, and openness.
