Lu Horta
Lu Horta, a Brazilian artist, is a singer, composer, body percussionist, and educator. Since 2023, she has been living in Montreal, where she is involved in artistic collaborations with local artists as well as educational projects with Orff Québec, UQAM, the Centre des musiciens du monde, and the Maison des arts participatifs.
This 60-minute individual lesson offers a technical and personalized approach to Brazilian singing, aimed at teenagers aged 16 and over and adults of all ages.
The teacher is trained in classical and popular vocal technique and specializes in singing therapy (Werbeck method/Uncovering the Voice School), integrating physical and expressive tools into each participant’s vocal development.
Sessions include breathing, vocalization, articulation, and voice expansion exercises tailored to each student’s abilities and goals. The repertoire emphasizes the richness of Brazilian music—bossa nova, samba-canção, forró, —while incorporating, when possible, pieces suggested by the student in order to support their personal expression and promote a natural, conscious, and well-grounded development of their voice.
