The Oraciones Ensemble was born out of the meeting of four musicians from different backgrounds including Lamia Yared (singer and oudist), Didem Başar (kanun musician), Omar Abou-Afach (violist) as well as Olivier Bussières (percussionist). Reunited to perform a repertoire of Sephardic, Greek and Turkish-Ottoman music, the group immerses itself in a shimmering musical universe stretching from Spain to the Ottoman Empire. Accompanied by high level musicians who bring their own special touch and arrangements, Lamia Yared interprets stories with a tragic and passionate emphasis.
