Lysandre Chartrand
Centre des musiciens du mondeDescription
Lysandre Chartrand’s group classes explore the repertoire, practice and history of traditional song. From laments to call-and-response songs, the first five classes aim to provide the learning tools to appropriate and develop this repertoire which can then be used during song vigils. The aim is also to discover the particularities and richness of traditional songs in Quebec, in terms of melodies, lyrics and variety. The session ends with a traditional song vigil open to the public.
