Anne-Marie Gardette
Dancer and teacher, Anne-Marie Gardette directs with Pierre Chartrand the company Danse Cadence a company dedicated to the diffusion of traditional and historical dance (danse.qc.ca). Seduced by the richness and refinement of the dances of the Renaissance (15th and 16th centuries) and the Baroque period (17th and 18th centuries), she has been presenting this repertoire on stage and teaching it regularly for more than 30 years. She began her professional career in her native France with the company Ris et Danceries. Upon her arrival in Montreal, she broadened her research into the dance of the New France period. As a choreographer, she has created various productions in early dance and music (“Le Bal des Ménestriers”, “Voyage Baroque”, “Gigue&Baroque”, etc.).
