Paulo Bottas
A hybrid musician, Paulo Bottas is a Brazilian pianist specialized in classical music and jazz. His career has led him to various genres from baroque to contemporary music.
In addition to a master’s degree in music from the University of Montreal, Paulo Bottas has been in contact with musicians and artists who enabled him to incorporate different musical traditions. These meetings had an impact on his artistic and musical career, which manifests itself in the form of original compositions as much as innovative arrangements.
Moreover, Paulo Bottas cultivates a great interest in the dialogue between different forms of art, especially by associating music and images. Hence his play Orishas, inspired by photographs of Lidia Barreiros, and his tribute to Frida Kahlo with a string-quartet playing over Cara Carmina’s illustrations.
