With Dina Cindrić
An engaging introduction to traditional polyphonic folk singing from the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
Repertoire will include songs that employ call-and-response, drone and multi-part singing. Participants will explore open-voice technique, throat shaking and ornamentation common to these singing traditions. Songs will be taught orally. It is therefore not necessary to know how to read music. Lyric sheets will be provided.
Sessions will be led by choral director and teacher Dina Cindrić.
Singers of all ages, genders, and levels of experience are welcome.
