Dina Cindrić
Dina Cindrić is a Montreal-based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and educator with over twenty years of teaching experience. She has performed at festivals across Canada and Europe and teaches Balkan singing with the Chorale Balkanique at the Centre des Musiciens du Monde.
Raised in the Croatian diaspora in Canada, Dina grew up immersed in her heritage’s folk songs, stories, and communal traditions. She has collected village songs from Croatia and the Balkans, studying their regional styles and social and ritual contexts.
Specializing in traditional a cappella singing, she is drawn to the communal, orally transmitted styles of village music. She founded and performs with Sava, an all-female vocal quartet dedicated to Balkan polyphony, and through teaching and community facilitation, she creates inclusive spaces where these ancestral traditions continue to thrive.
