Following the success of her first album Levantine Rhapsody (Album of the Year, World Music category, Prix Opus 2020), Turkish-Canadian kanun virtuoso Didem Başar shares with her listeners her new compositions for kanun (Turkish zither) and string orchestra. Marrying the Turkish musical tradition (its modes and rhythms) with classical colours and sounds, this original project crosses centuries and cultures. Başar touches hearts with her powerful and sensitive playing, travels the world with her music, and brings back all the beauty and variety she encounters to offer it to us on stage!
