Discovering the balafon

Activity led by Adama Daou

A 16-reed xylophone, the pentatonic balafon is an instrument of Malian and Burkinabe cultures. At the Centre des musiciens, this instrument is taught by Adama Daou, accomplished musician, teacher and great improviser. A great opportunity to experience an instrument that is both melodic and rhythmic while discovering an ancestral tradition. For this course, the instruments are provided.
