Renaissance Dance

Group classes with Anne-Marie Gardette

The workshops are taught in-person at the Centre (5043, rue Saint-Dominique, Montréal)

Open to all, these workshops will cover Renaissance ballroom dances. We will learn the basic steps and the dances listed in the Orcheography of Thoinot Arbeau (1589). We welcome musicians who play the repertoire of this period (Praetorius, Attaignant, Gervaise, Phalèse…) and who want to learn on its dances.

It is possible to attend all workshops or to an individual workshop; they can be followed independently. Each of the workshops will address different Renaissance dances.

No prerequisites.

The workshop will be taught in french.
