Laura Risk

Laura Risk has performed and taught the traditional fiddle music of Scotland for over 25 years, having studied with renowned Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser in her youth. After moving to Montreal in 2001, Laura added traditional Québécois fiddling to her repertoire. She performs and teaches internationally and has over a dozen albums to her credit. Laura is also active as a music researcher and holds a PhD in Musicology from McGill University. She co-authored The Glengarry Collection: The Highland Fiddle Music of Aonghas Grant and co-produced of the CD Douglastown: Music and Song from the Gaspé Coast, for which she received the 2014 Prix Mnémo.
