Learn darbouka
The darbuka is one of the best-known percussions from Middle-East. The goblet-shaped instrument consists in a drum on which an animal skin (from a goat or a fish for instance) or a plastic membrane is fixed. Percussionist Joseph Khoury, an experienced musician trained at the Lebanese Conservatory and formed by great Turkish masters (Bünyamin Olguncan, Suat Borazan et Hamdi Akatay), will share a variety of technics specific to this versatile instrument.
