TÜRKIYE, CANADA
Following the success of her first album, Levantine Rhapsody (Album of the Year, World Music category, Prix Opus 2020), Turkish-Canadian kanun virtuoso Didem Başar shares with her listeners her new compositions for kanun (Turkish zither) and string orchestra. Marrying the Turkish musical tradition (its modes and rhythms) with Western colours and sounds, this original project cross over centuries and cultures. Başar touches hearts with her powerful and sensitive playing. She travels the world with her music, bringing back all the beauty and variety she encounters to offer it to us on stage!

IRAN, BALOUCHISTAN
Roaming the ancient paths of the Silk Road, discover rare and lesser-known musical traditions of Iran. Balochi music, with its deep roots and rich traditions, evokes unique sensory and spiritual experiences. With Reza Abaee on the gheychak (Iranian fiddle), each note awakens the spirit to trance. Then, accompanied by the rhythms of Hamin Honari on percussion, let yourself be transported to the vast desert expanses of Iranian Balochistan by the songs and poetry of Fatieh Honari.
